I left the movie 16 minutes in. I felt like I was watcing a minions movie or something, where every line of dialogue was a joke.. After 16 minutes, I had to stop. what an annoying movie

They got it right the first time. The cold opening has an ominous feel, hence the ominous music. To break from that, just to start a second ominous theme with the current day Ghostbusters chasing the Sewer Dragon, would not have meshed well at all. You would've had to alternate the scenes to better transition to the "Ghostbusters" theme, if you wanted to make an attempt at this version.

I don't know why they hate that theme song in the new movies. This was perfect

Yeah, Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight started a trend that other filmmakers have copied. The James Bond movies made the same mistake of putting the gunbarrel sequence and 007 theme at the end, and I hate it.
